A good Fourth of July parade is an essential part of any Independence Day celebration. It simply wouldn’t feel like the Fourth without it! True to its community values, Steamboat Springs hosts a genuine extravaganza of community fun.

Since 1927, Steamboat Springs has proudly celebrated its Western heritage with an authentic hometown Fourth of July parade. Community groups, non-profits, and local businesses team up to create a dazzling display of creative floats, choreographed dances, and the most elaborate costumes you’ll ever see!

This year’s parade, led by grand marshals Donny and Jackie Hayes, will include 40+ floats registered by local businesses and organizations. Find a shady spot on Lincoln Avenue between 6th and 10th Street, and settle in for a patriotic spectacle starting at 10 a.m.

Fourth of July Performances and Concerts

As if the parade wasn’t enough, Steamboat’s Fourth of July celebrations continue well into the evening! This remarkable 5 hour show received $30,000 in support from the City of Steamboat Springs, guaranteeing you an explosive lineup of all-American performances.

The evening kicks off at 5:50 p.m. with music by Eric Delaney’s Taste Test at the new-and-improved Steamboat Stage. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes, as Eric Delaney and his fellow musicians will fill the base area with the funkiest, grooviest, rock ‘n’ roll set you’ll ever hear!

As the evening draws on, at 7 p.m. John Papa Gros will ignite the stage with soulful sounds, funk, traditional jazz, brass band beats, and blues.

Soon after sunset, at 9 p.m., the entire Steamboat Resort will be lit up with a remarkable drone show. Safety concerns regarding fireworks have required Steamboat’s Fourth of July committee to get creative… leading to a spectacle more dazzling than any fireworks show could compete with! You won’t believe your eyes as the mountain slope comes to life with detailed images in the sky of iconic Steamboat symbols. Previous displays have seen drones create pictures of skiing figures, words, and cowboys.
