Take a Different Kind of Trail in Steamboat Springs

As an adventurous soul, you have the hiking trails, ski runs, and gondola lines all mapped out. You know the best time to embark on each excursion and you have the right gear for each activity.

But what about a more leisurely bike ride or a stroll that allows you to linger and enjoy the traditional Western charm Steamboat is known for?

Look no further: The Brew Trail in Steamboat Springs is the perfect way to spend an afternoon or even a whole day exploring the city with friends and family.

The Brew Trail will lead you from the downtown core to the West end of town by following the Yampa River that weaves its way through Steamboat Springs. Choose to walk the 2.7 mile trail, hop on your bike, or rent a cruiser or e-bike from a local shop in town.

Along the trail, you’ll see two very different parts of Steamboat: the historic downtown and the creative West Side – all while sipping on some of Colorado’s finest craft beer.

There’s plenty on offer at each stop, including delicious food for all palettes and hand-crafted beer and spirits from three of the best breweries around and one award-winning distillery.

Located across from the picturesque Yampa River, this local brewery truly is a family destination! They not only create all their beers, but they’ve also made sure to include even the smallest members of your family, from their kid’s menu to their homemade root beer.

And don’t forget to enjoy a delectable dessert while you’re there! May we suggest the Campfire S’more – a fire-toasted double chocolate chip cookie, homemade marshmallow fluff with a graham cracker crumble. Pair this with their Mountain Macaroon beer for a sweet treat like no other.

For unique private dining, reserve a winter Gondola at Mountain Tap! These refurbished gondolas are now outfitted with a custom-made pine table, twinkly lights, a small heater, and a Bluetooth speaker. Each gondola fits up to 6 adults to enjoy craft beer, wood-fired cuisine, and an unforgettable experience!

This is Yampa Valley Brewing Company’s newest location: The Hop House.

This brewery features a taproom with a speak-easy atmosphere, firepits, and games on its gorgeous patio – where dogs are also welcome!

They create “beers as unique and diverse as the people of the Valley”, with beers from a seasonal peach to a bold, barrel-aged stout. Though they don’t offer food on-site, you can order from any of the local restaurants nearby and enjoy your food at the brewery.

This is the largest and most well-known brewery in Steamboat Springs and is lovingly named after the Storm Peak Lift at Steamboat Ski Resort.

If you’ve got a sophisticated palate for craft beer, this will be one of your favorite stops along the Brew Trail in Steamboat Springs. Boasting 20 rotating taps, you’re sure to find something that suits your distinct taste.

The Elk River Plaza location is the main taproom and manufacturing facility so you’ll find a unique behind-the-scenes view from your seat. If you prefer to sit outdoors, a spacious patio is the perfect spot to catch the sunset over the mountains.

This is the first, and only, distillery featured on the Brew Trail in Steamboat Springs!

Crafting high-quality spirits, by hand in small batches ensures you’ll never get the same drink twice, and each bottle you take home is one-of-a-kind. Choose from whiskey blends, gin, vodka, and other specialty spirits such as coffee liqueur and silver rum.

We’ve saved this stop for last because it is the most fun for your whole family. For the little ones in your family or the young-at-heart, Mythology gives you the option to sit and relax by the fire as the kids zoom down the slides, start a friendly cornhole competition, or savor the mouth-watering Asian-inspired cuisine.

Check out their events for the latest Campfire Series: live campfire stories and music around the Mythology fire.
