This is one of the most rewarding Fall hiking trails in Steamboat Springs. For those adventurous souls who relish a challenging trek, this hike is for you.

A climb to the 10,839-foot summit of Hahn’s Peak takes you through a forest of Evergreens before opening up to gorgeous vistas overlooking the surrounding mountains and lakes.

When you begin the steeper ascent, you’ll encounter very rocky terrain, so wearing supportive shoes is necessary on this trail. Passing century-old gold mines, you’ll arrive at your destination: the 1912 Fire Lookout Tower.

From here you’ll see golden Aspen groves, sweeping valleys that reach as far north as Wyoming and east to the rugged Park Range.
